Wine description:

The wine for the Pater of the family, Jaume's father. This wine is how he prefers to see and drink the wine.

Made entirely from Garnatxa, because according to Jaume that is the grape that best expresses the terroir in the case of La Figuera. Old vines, between 30 and 80 years old, with a low concentrated yield is what this powerhouse is made of. But a powerhouse in the best sense of the word - for Priorat and Montsant this is still a very smooth, lively wine that will empty the bottle sooner than you would like. 

The fermentation is done completely in stainless steel barrels to preserve the freshness and the fruit, after which the wine goes into French oak barrels to further develop there for 12 months. This results in a classic wine, which is not old-fashioned thanks to the biodynamic vineyard management and the natural work involved in vinification. The wine is dark red in the glass and has intense aromas of red fruit, forest fruits, graphite, licorice, chocolate and spices. The tannins are present but soft and make this wine wonderfully accessible yet rich.
