Warm, rich, intense. Albert's new project was to include the Malvasia de Sitges in the collection. That worked - and how! This delicious white wine is made by fermenting the grapes after a cold maceration in chestnut wood barrels of 500 liters and after this the wine remains in the barrel for another 8 months before it goes into the bottle. This maturation provides freshness and complexity. Where oak gives off some flavour, chestnut mainly provides more oxygen contact.
This golden yellow wine has a warm, ripe nose with lots of stone fruit and spices. In the mouth, the body is quite full, but not overwhelming. A wine where you discover something new with every sip. Ripe, voluptuous, elegant, warm... Delicious! These kinds of experiments should be done more often, because this is really a new top wine.
